Flower Arrangement - How To Make A White Silk Sabbath Day Wreath
In many faiths, including Christianity a day is marked as rest day. This day is usually know as Sabbath .The term Sabbath comes from the Hebrew word ‘Shabbat’ which means “to cease”. It was first used in the Biblical account of the seventh day of Creation. One of the Ten Commandments clearly mentions that Sabbath must be observed .Though originally it means a day of rest, the term “Sabbath” has now come to mean communal worship and various other meanings in Christian context.
Materials:
- Grapevine wreath
- Silk white daisies
- Silk white gerberas
- Fresh water lilies
- Fresh white roses
- Florist wire
- Hot glue
- Scissors
- Fresh eucalyptus
Instructions:
1. This being a unique wreath, we shall first make the flower garlands. For this cut the flower heads of the silk daisies and gerberas. Pierce the florist wire through the base of the flowers and tie a knot at the beginning and at the end. Make 2 garlands, 1 each of gerbera and daisy in this manner.
2. Wrap the garlands on the wreath base and secure the ends with floral tape. Cover the wreath fully, leaving no space.
3. Add eucalyptus leaves with hot glue to the wreath.
4. Cut the flower heads of the water lilies and white roses and decorate the wreath with them with equal spacing.
Hang the wreath on the front door or the mantelpiece. You may also make few such wreaths and gift them to the church.
