Bring the freshness of spring to your marital life with a spring flower anniversary wreath. Spring flowers are appealing and intoxicatingly fragrant. You will find them in varied colors, sizes and shapes. Some of the spring flowers you may use to decorate your house are Daffodils, Oxeye, Daisies, Dianthuses and Primroses. The other materials you will need are easily available and you will have plenty of time on your hands to arrange the barbecue and dress up too!
Materials you will need:
- Grapevine wreath
- Fresh spring flowers like Greenery Daffodils, Oxeye, Daisies, Dianthuses and Primroses
- Dried or fresh herbs (optional)
- Potpourri sachets (optional)
- Florist wire
- Sharp scissors
Procedure:
- Trim the flower stems to 3-4 inches. Now make bunches with 4-5 stems of flowers and few leaves and other foliage tied with floral wire. If you do not wish the wire to be visible, wrap it with bear grass or any other ornamental grass. While making the bunches take care to ensure that there is at least one brightly colored flower in each bunch.
- Take a bunch, place it on the wreath and tie securely with floral wreath. Arrange all the bunches in an overlapping manner and tie them tightly to the wreath with floral wire. No part of the wreath should be bare. If after securing the bunches you discover some gaps, fill them up with acorns or berries.
- Hang a little toy lantern from the top of the wreath so that it hangs at the center hole of the wreath. You may hang few stars too, along with the lantern. Add ribbons and other baubles if you wish to make your wreath ornate.
- You may include fresh or dried herbs along with your flowers, to give a fragrant welcome to your guests. Hide potpourri sachets in the flowers to make the wreath bursting with natural fragrance. There is one drawback though of making this wreath, your guests may refuse to leave your house!
- You may make this wreath with silk flowers too. It will remain glorious for a long time and you can use the wreath for a variety of occasions with a few alterations. For instance, add a red felt heart for Valentine’s Day, few sprigs of faux or fresh holly for Christmas, scarecrow for Thanksgiving and so on.
