Dried flower centrepiece - How to Make a Dried Flower Centerpiece for Wedding

Make the wedding of a dear friend memorable with a dried flower centerpiece.

Materials:

Low and round basket or vase

Foliage

Some flat headed flowers in yellow colors like sunflowers, marigolds etc,

About 20 roses

Dry foam bricks

Florist’s spike

Adhesive clay

Pruning shears and craft knife.

Instructions:

1: First of all dry these flowers by any method. You can even buy dried flowers to do away with it.

2: Roses which are dried have a closing tendency as they dry. To open them up hole the rose over the spout of a steaming kettle till the petals becomes soft and go limp. Then you open these petals using a hairpin or a piece of florist’s wire. Open the petals bringing them into the steam as per necessity.

3: Cut a piece of florist’s foam with the craft knife to fit it in the basket or vase. Remember that the foam must extend about 1 ¼” above the edge of the basket or vase.

4: Then affix the florist’s spike to bottom of the basket. Use adhesive caly for doing so. Then push the foam onto the spike.

5: Then you cut off the sharp corners as well as top and sides of the foam with a knife to fit it in the basket or vase.

6: When you put flowers, it will overlap the basket and will hide the foam.

7: At the center put some foliage like carthamus to attain the maximum height and width of the vase.

8: Then from the center go on filling groups of dried roses and yellow flowers tightly along the focal group of carthamus. Then angle the stems at the outward position so that the flowers can slope easily.

9: Always create a balanced shape from all sides as well as from below and tabletop.

10: Always work from the center making a curve posture by the flowers and foliage. This will look more natural if you curve the bottom edge of the flowers and foliage softly and partially to conceal the vase.

Your arrangement is ready for decoration.
